CubeCart by Brooky.com, is an E–Commerce script written with PHP & MySQL. CubeCart is actually a free E–commerce Script that has their logo on the page. If you need to edit or remove the CubeCart copyright logo they charge $59.95 per domain and you will be issued with a License Key. You need to have the following also to run Cubecart. PHP 4.1.1, MySQL 3.23, GD 1.6.
Feature Set:
CubeCart features include template systems seperate from HTML and PHP, XHML and CSS code, state and country tax, unlimited products and category placement and a new Rich Text HTML editor. There are not many shipping options available. Shipping is calculated by category. The way you set up your categories determines the shipping price. If there is a combination of items purchased over different categories, the higher shipping rates will apply. The reports with CubeCart are very simple to read and understand. They are presented in a graphical format.
Ease of Use:
The navigation in cube cart is quite simple to use. It is based on a hierarchical type of navigation. To configure CubeCart is not easy for the novice. Once you’re on the page, it is difficult to find what you need to configure because it is all jumbled together.
Ease of Installation:
CubeCart expects you to have a good understanding of how PHP, MySQL, and GD work for you to set up CubeCart. Downloading CubeCart was simple, but to configure and upload it to your hosting server is very difficult if you’re not fimiliar with this.
Help/Documentation:
Perhaps the most important attribute of good Shopping Cart software is the information and help the application provides. The help is quite poor. They offer a help forum, which is designed to answer all your needs. Most of your questions go unanswered or you might get a poor response.
Summary:
CubeCart’s most flattering feature is the price. There are few shopping cart programs availabe for less than hundreds of dollars. If you wish to have a professional and credible website there are better shopping carts to invest in. The bottom line is that you can get a lot better software and service for just a little more money.
