WebGenie by WebGenie® Software Pty Ltd, is designed to create catalogs and CGIs to be used on your own server. If you're familiar with CGIs, WebGenie would be a good choice.
Feature Set:
There are several built-in payment gateways for your credit card processing needs. They also have flexible shipping options, which include a real-time interface to UPS. The tax can be specified for different regions.
Ease of Use:
Webgenie is not for a novice. You need to know a lot about CGIs to use this product. Webgenie uses Windows-friendly interface to create CGIs and catalogs, but it is difficult.
Ease of Installation:
WebGenie would be very complicated to setup for the average person. There are certain things you must be able to do such as: upload the files to your server and, in the case of UNIX, be aware of basic commands such as 'chmod 755 *.cgi', 'whereis perl', etc. in case they are required. Also WebGenie needs a command line mailer rather than a Windows mailer, to work.
Help/Documentation:
Perhaps the most important attribute of good Shopping Cart software is the information and help the application provides. The Help is poor. They offer Email support and a very long FAQ.
Summary:
WebGenie is a CGI and catalog shopping cart. Bottom line there are a lot better shopping carts available.
